May 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026 | Month of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Close the day in peace with these Catholic Evening Prayers for May, the Month of Mary — surrendering all the hours of this day into the hands of the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Throughout May, the Church invites us to deepen our love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. These Catholic Evening Prayers for the Month of Mary draw the soul gently toward rest, gratitude, and the peace that only God can give — guided by the intercession of Our Lady.
Return here each evening this May to examine your conscience, offer your day to God, pray the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and entrust the night to the loving protection of Our Lady and your Guardian Angel.
Reflection:
As the day draws to a close, we turn our hearts to God in gratitude and contrition. These Evening Prayers for the Month of Mary invite us to lay down our burdens at the foot of the Cross, to examine our conscience honestly, and to seek the peace that only comes from surrender to God’s holy will.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary is our model of evening surrender. Each night, Mary pondered the events of the day in her heart, offering everything back to God. As we pray the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and the De Profundis, we join ourselves to her quiet, faithful love — trusting that God’s mercy is greater than all our failings.

I render to You the homage of my being and life. I submit myself to Your holy Will, and I devote myself to Your divine service, now and forever. Amen.
Regina Caeli — Queen of HeavenOur Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Prayer for Health of Body and SoulQueen of heaven, rejoice, Alleluia!
For He whom you did merit to bear, Alleluia!
Has risen as He said, Alleluia!
Pray for us to God, Alleluia!
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, Alleluia!
For the Lord has truly risen, Alleluia!Let us pray; O God, Who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we beseech You that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of Saint John Paul II to the Blessed Virgin MaryO Lord Jesus Christ, who during Your brief life on earth went about doing good to all men, be merciful to us in our needs. O Divine Physician, Your tender Heart was ever moved at the sight of pain and affliction. I beg of You, if it be in Your holy Will, to help us regain our health and strength, stretch forth Your hand to all who suffer, whether in mind or body. Grant to each of us that peace of soul, which You alone can give. Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on us.
Apostles’ CreedMother of the Redeemer, with great joy we call you blessed. In order to carry out His plan of salvation, God the Father chose you before the creation of the world. You believed in His love and obeyed His word. The Son of God desired you for His Mother when He became man to save us.
You were there by His side as our loving Mother, at the foot of the Cross, and on the day of Pentecost, you became the Mother of the Church. Intercede for us with your maternal love, that we may always be faithful disciples of your Son, and that we may one day rejoice with you and all the saints in the glory of eternal life. Amen.
Glory BeI believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
The ConfiteorGlory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
I confess to Almighty God, to blessed Mary ever Virgin, to blessed Michael the Archangel, to blessed John the Baptist, to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and to all the Saints, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word, and deed, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault.
Therefore, I beseech blessed Mary ever Virgin, blessed Michael the Archangel, blessed John the Baptist, the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints, to pray to the Lord our God for me.
May Almighty God have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to life everlasting. Amen. May the almighty and merciful Lord grant us pardon, absolution, and remission of our sins. Amen.

Act of FaithAct of HopeO my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three divine Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because You have revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived.

Reflection:
Each evening in May, the Church invites us to pause and return to the heart of Marian devotion — entrusting the day’s joys, struggles, and failings to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who carries them tenderly to her Son.
These Catholic Evening Prayers for the Month of Mary include an Examination of Conscience, the Confiteor, Acts of Faith, Hope, Charity and Contrition, the beautiful Litany of the Blessed Virgin, and prayers for the Holy Souls — drawing the soul into a deep and peaceful rest in God.
May the Immaculate Heart of Mary shelter you, protect you, and bring you peace through the night.
Living These Prayers:
- Before pressing play, take one slow breath and consciously set aside the noise of the day
- During the Examination of Conscience, pause the video and sit in silence for a moment — let the Holy Spirit bring one thing to mind
- Offer any suffering or difficulty from today to the Immaculate Heart of Mary with the words “Mary, I give you this”
- Before sleep, make the Sign of the Cross slowly and deliberately as your final act of the day
